Chimneys And Towers
While Tess was at Keep Fat this morning, I was waiting for a small delivery of logs to top up our store and see us through the winter. This afternoon we kept warm putting them away.
I’ve blipped this view from our loft window more than once but this scaffolding has only recently appeared atop the old Clarks’ factory chimney. It hasn’t been used since the factory closed but presumably is in need of some repairs. It stands between the Clarks’ HQ offices where our son works and the retail outlet so would no doubt be a health and safety hazard if there were any loose brickwork. I’m intrigued by how they got that scaffolding up there.
The other chimneys are from the houses opposite, the metal water tower was also part of the factory and thanks St Michael’s tower at the summit of the Tor in the distance.
