Out out!
How can it be Thursday already?
I think I have finally moved from "How will I ever get organised I've got so much to do" mode to "Ok I'm ready, let's get on with it" mode. I'm packed with 2kg to spare, my hand luggage just needs last minute chargers etc added, plenty of weight allowance left there for emergencies, time to go.
This morning started (again) with a meeting with the joiner at the Rectory. J came too and now knows what is to be done. The joiner is replacing a set of old leaky windows with 3 new ones, replacing two external and two internal doors, in conjunction with the heating engineer lifting (then replacing) some flooring so that another radiator can be fitted and in conjunction with the painter replacing two window sills upstairs. I wonder how much will actually be done by the time I get home again. Things have to be ordered so things won't get started for a couple of weeks, but at least it's in hand. I'm hoping that while I'm away the quotes for the kitchen will come in and the choice made. Fingers crossed.
Next was up to Mike's for our first Cursillo meeting in a long time - first though M&L and I had lunch with Alison, our curate from thirty years ago who went on to be M and L's Rector before she moved to England. We've always stayed in touch so it was nice to see her again and have time to chat.
M & D arrived at 2pm and so it was good to catch up. Next stop was in Livingston, picking up something for Ali. If anyone is travelling that way, don't go by the A71, it took me over 20 minutes of queuing to get through a set of temp traffic lights at East Calder. Thank goodness it wasn't at a busy time, the phasing was awful. I could so easily have gone by the M8!
I was tired when I got home and we decided it would be good to take advantage off the 40% off offer at Cafe Andaluz in Stockbridge (my blip). It's such a nice restaurant, much less crowded than the George Street one. I think it is a good location for them as there is a shortage of bigger places to eat in the area, lots of wee bistros and pubs though.
We weren't there very long, but as always ate well. They have very friendly and efficient waiting staff.
We finally watched UC for this week, not having got around to it till today, and now, to bed, ready for Friday!
