Snowdrop Glade
Calke Abbey is fostering the growth of its snowdrops. We were fortunate to see the first ones when we visited this afternoon. Little Cecily was a boon. We caught the trailer up to the garden and I tootled about on little Cecily while Len and Basil walked.
The annual snowdrop display was already up and blooming in the walled garden. Witch Hazel and Winter Flowering Honeysuckle were also in flower.
Afterwards, we adjourned to the restaurant for hot chocolate and cake. Much to our delight, a small section of the restaurant has been cordoned off for dogs. We were able to sit in the warm. The temperature was bitter when the sun went down.
Once home, I spotted a short video on Facebook showing flooding in Tangier. A quick message to Aziz revealed that all was well at Miraflores although the town had had one month's rain in one day yesterday.
