At the ICU...

Shortly after I got home in the wee hours in the morning, I received a text from my sister that our mom is in the ER. She had a high fever and was throwing up. After a few hours they found out why - a kidney stone blockage was causing a large back up causing a major infection. Her vitals were not stable either. Finally late Thursday morning, the decision was made that her kidney needed to be drained despite her condition. We were warned all the potential issues but at this point we had no other options. She went through the procedure very well. Now we wait for the antibiotics to take over to calm things down. It is unknown at this time when they will work on the kidney stone.

As of 15:00 Pacific Coast Time, she is stable but in great pain. We are working on that a little at a time because of her condition. I will stay till evening and then be back in the morning.
