Sauchiehall St.

Passed this new project space on Sauchiehall St today. I was too early to go in and tell my memories of the street.
Being a young country bumpkin from N.I. I was getting used to city life and on my first date with my now husband. Walking along Sauchiehall St.on our way to the cinema he told me to walk on the inside keep my arms close to me and not bump into anyone! Why? I asked. In case you get knifed! Well his safe keeping must have wooed me!
Those were the days of gang warfare in Glasgow but really little has changed UK wide.
In the Street's favour I loved the department stores, the rows and rows of buttons on cards. Fabulous hats and shoes.
It was such a famous street I was so smug to be there.
