Car In The Hood, Rochester
Today we woke up to a glorious, dazzling winter morning so it made our early run much more enjoyable. However, it was pretty cold so we had to put on our gloves along with a fair number of layers. As it was such a nice day we decided to head to the very atmospheric Tudor Rose pub in Upper Upnor for a drink. We were greeted very warmly and loved sitting in the saloon as the light poured in through its windows. With our beverages consumed we headed down the cobbled High Street that leads to a bend of the River Medway. This is where we took our images for our shared PhotoSafaris blip - http://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3331709556358121239
We then headed to Rochester for a quick walk around and it's here I wanted to try out spot metering again to try and get some images with deep shadows, silhouettes and bright highlights. My main image was of this car shrouded in its black cover. I wanted to accentuate its inkiness and I think this gives it an ominous feel like something out of a gangster film. The extra is of my brother's silhouette on a street near the castle grounds.
