A Fishing Family!
Dad arrived at the jetty with his three little children just as I was walking to the Colour Patch for a coffee catch up with a friend this morning. This brings back great memories for me as a child. We all had our own rod and Dad taught Mum, Al, Steve and I to caste off the beach. We would usually head out just before sunset as Dad thought that was the optimum time. Often he would light a fire on the beach and after scaling and gutting the fish he would cook them in butter and we would have them with fresh bread and butter. Honestly, as I type I can still taste those hot fish sandwiches. It doesn’t get any better than that. I still have my rod and will have to get it out again very soon.
