Fun Day!

And yes, one more gorgeous blue sky day! The high today was in the mid-50'sF, stunning. 

I had a fun day today - the couple that housesit for me when I was in Mexico are currently housesitting in SE Portland and we enjoyed each other so much that we decided to get together! So they headed this way for lunch and we went to McMenamin's Rock Creek Tavern. It's got a fun history, including being involved in "The Beer War" in the 1930's :-) The McMenamin brothers have created a really interesting restaurant empire in Oregon and Washington by repurposing old buildings like schools and even a funeral parlor and turning them into restaurants and hotels. Very popular spots. We love this particular spot - it's out of the way, although always busy, and has so much very cool ambience! 

Here's a shot of the roof, covered with moss which stays year round since it's on the north side of the building. Fun, eh?
