Salvia aurea

I’m fascinated by the intricacies of this plant—curls and colors, odd shapes and surprises. It’s a big leggy thing, almost five feet tall and at least as wide, covered with these complicated bright flowers. I wouldn’t want it in my garden, but it was intriguing to stare at it for awhile and see how it was put together.
