Today's the day

Isle of Whithorn

Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . to go west

What a lovely day I've had today, starting with a hair appointment postponed from last Friday when Storm Eowyn changed many people's plans.

Then, because we're hopeful that we really might be re-connected sometime today, we thought we would make the most of our last day of the 'minibreak'.  It was a beautiful sunny day too - so we headed westwards along the Solway Coast to the Isle of Whithorn.

On the way, we took advantage of a free cup of tea and some chips at one of the Food Vans, set up by SP Networks for people without power (see extra).  We've really been looked after well!

We enjoyed ourselves at the Isle.  I went for a long walk out to St Ninian's Chapel where the first pilgrims from Ireland landed.  Will did a painting that you can see here . . . . . . . . . .
