PURE DELIGHT ON WIDE WEDNESDAY, BUT...
...how could I possibly change this to monochrome, which is the theme for today?
Mr. HCB is an avid weather-watcher, so said last night that the rain should have stopped by this morning, so he would be happy for us to go out for coffee.
We went to Jack’s and of course, we were only just inside the door when we were verbally abused by the lovely Flo - mainly because I walked in wearing my sunglasses. My eyes have been quite sore for the last few days, and it is amazing how bright the light is, even when it isn’t sunny - so I do often wear my sunnies! Needless to say, we just ignored Flo - but the owner of The Core, which is now inside Jack’s did tell us that in a certain American town, there is a restaurant called Karen’s, where insults are the norm!
I looked this up and found this out: “Karen’s is an interactive diner and an absurdly fun experience. At Karen’s you will be greeted and waited upon by rude waiters and forced to play a variety of stupid games.” Thankfully, although Flo is great at insulting us, we don’t have to play stupid games - I would enjoy that, but Mr. HCB, being a bit shyer than me, would hate it.
Anyway, I digress - as we sat at our table, a lady came in bearing gifts for Aimee, our favourite waitress, and I spotted a Blip opportunity immediately. Lou had brought two huge canisters of Peanut Butter Pretzels - and you can see the absolute delight on Aimee’s face! When I went over to the counter, I asked if Lou had brought them for Aimee from America, to which she responded, “No, from Costco!” I took several photographs, and you can see how happy Aimee was - and she even let me try one - but only one!
I did tell her that my grandson, whose 30th birthday was in a couple of weeks, loved peanut butter and also loved pretzels, so she gave me a bagful for him - but I had to promise I wouldn’t snaffle any of them! That is going to be SOOOO hard, but I promise I will try to be good!
We are now back home, and the best of the day has gone, so Mr. HCB is doing another jigsaw puzzle and I may do a little more decluttering before some friends come over later.
Have a wonderful Wednesday! M xx
