Grapes

Whew!  Busy day today and I'm exhausted tonight.

Ride with J to town and back via Ruby's lovely cafe.  As I was a bit hot and sweaty I decided that other 'dirty' jobs should be done before I showered.  About 3-4 hours later the front shrubs had all been trimmed and cleaned up, some shrubs at the back had been trimmed and mostly cleaned up, some branches and boughs from some  of last year's trimmings were chainsawed up ready for burning when things start to cool down and finally, lawns were mowed. 

My grapevine was 'trimmed' recently when the neighbour had an arborist round to cut a few of her trees, quite a few of which had spread over the fence to my side.  I didn't mind them at all..........lots more shade from the summer sun, but they were nevertheless, cut back heavily.  Parts of my grapevine had meandered its way along a few of the overhanging branches and so became collateral damage.  I picked a few of the grape bunches and left them to see how they withered.  This is they........looking more like raisins than grapes but absolutely nowhere near as sweet.  Hopefully the rest of the crop does ok.
