Nearly Tartan

Our marking platform upgrades didn’t work today, causing problems all round and meant that nobody could mark or monitor all day. Bad timing too, as there’s always a rush at the end of the month when everyone is trying to get their hours in.

I did manage to complete the 2nd part of the training for the upcoming project, but was too tired at the end of the day to attempt the standardisation ‘quiz’ - you have to get 100% (but can do it as many times as necessary). Better to do it when feeling fresh!

Two mini successes - a visit to the bank to enquire why my card wasn’t working resulted in their unblocking of it. They weren’t sure why it had been blocked in the first place! I also had a successful call call to HRMC in the UK to follow up a recent letter I received in the post telling me I was due a small refund due from around 1987 (yes, that’s right!) - something about opting out of a pension scheme, and I eventually spoke to a real person who took my bank details. Every little counts!
