Demolition

A demolition team are busy demolishing some buildings that have been derelict for many years. This view from Kirkgate through to Bonnygate won’t have been seen for a long time I suspect.

I stopped for a chat with some of the workmen who told me they would have had this frontage knocked down had there not been a street light up against it no one had told them about. They joked that my photos would cost £10 for every time my phone clicked ! 

Apparently the old cobble stones that made up the floor on the left are valuable so the boss wanted them saved. They are called cossies in Scotland but I am not sure if that is the correct spelling.
