Boy with oranges

Leo is obsessed with orange, the colour and anything that is the colour.  I was called to baby sit this sick child today (gardening leave benefits!) who turned out not to be sick at all but simply throwing a temperature so couldn’t go to nursery on a day when both his parents had major work duties.

Turned up in time to see B vanish for the office - he writes on AI for the Economist and his story about DeepSeek has gone a bit viral.  He had to go in to record some press for it, a podcast for the Economist, the News Agent podcast and BBC rolling news.  His partner works for TFL and was on two massive Teams calls about infrastructure.  Leo and I played roll the orange, cook the orange on the toy cooker and go for a nap with an orange.  I peeled him an orange to eat but he wasn’t interested.

I was relieved of my duties around 5.30 just in time to see Ivy when she came home, and headed out into the dark and stormy for a stress free journey home. Slight build up of work emails but I managed to get the ones that were weighing on me done on the way home.

I watched another episode of Traitors.  I never watch reality TV as I find it pointless but the writer I’m working with is obsessed with it and wants to talk about it in terms of ‘turning points’ and character so I said I’d go all the way through it.  I’m impressed by the production.
