Ski Day
A perfect day for skiing, just above freezing, no wind, and no clouds as seen in all three pictures. Owen and I headed to the mountains for a day at Keystone. Owen fashioned some mittens a few weeks ago that are made of old jeans and fleece, he has named them Jittens (jean+mittens). The Jittens held up well on a day like today but I am not sure how they would do in anything but perfect weather.
A factor in moving to Colorado was the skiing, the resorts are a medium length drive from where the jobs are but it is always worth the trip. Maybe if we strike it rich we'll get a cabin in the mountains! The skiing at keystone is perfect for ski-until-you-drop! The main runs are a long (~2.5miles/4km) with a lot of vertical drop (2300ft/700m). After about 17kft (5200m) of vertical drop, at high altitude, we are both exhausted now a nap is very much needed before my nightly Carly duties start.
