Evening Quartermile
Having missed out on a sunny afternoon because I was ensconced in the same small room for about 3 hours, I was relieved that when I walked over to the Chrystal Macmillan Building for an academic event at 5pm, there was still light in the sky, making for a good view out of the 6th floor window. Just a few reflections in that photo, but - hey - it's the best I can do on a working day.
This morning I had intended to go swimming, but I switched my alarm off and decided not to go. As a result, I was a bit annoyed to wake up just after 6am, with no chance of getting back to sleep. Even so, I didn't feel like getting up immediately, so I mentally swapped the swimming across to tomorrow, when I hope to be able to persuade myself out of bed sharpish, and did a peloton workout instead.
The day ended nicely with supper with NNS and JM at 120 Dundas Street, which is very convenient for both of them. Very nice food. And astonishingly quick to get home afterwards on the bike, using the bike paths and the new quick exit onto West Bowling Green Street. It makes quite a difference to journey time. I thought about sticking to the roads in the dark in the evening, but there are so many sets of traffic lights it would have taken me loads longer. As it was, there were plenty of people on the North Edinburgh Paths and all seemed calm and friendly.
