Trees, gardens and birds

Was going to go for a walk but it was another miserable, damp, grey day so I chickened out and pottered about in the garden (but not much).
The new tree will need repotting tomorrow as it's pot-bound - I am not surprised - that's probably why it was on sale. It's in good condition otherwise.
Swept up some bits and did a little weeding / moss removal.
While looking out at the back garden through the kitchen window while making a brew, I spotted a thrush on a fence post. I couldn't be sure if it was a mistle thrush or a song thrush even with the binoculars. I thought to get  photo but before I could get a zoom shot off it flew. The one that was a quick snap does not show its markings in any clarity. It's the first thrush I've seen in a long time.
Cleaned the kitchen shutters and the worktops but haven't done much else today yet I can't tell where the day has gone.
Finished the book I was reading but not sure I will read the others I have of his (Andy McDermott) as the book I just read had too much action for my liking. I skimmed through some of the mad goings on or I'd have had to bin it. I have three more of his! It's weird - I've had them all ages and never felt like reading one before. Perhaps that should have said something to me.
Signed up with Brsk for broadband. We've only ever had the option of Virgin Media here - well it's only ever been the workable option. Sky had been abysmal as we have been too far from the box to get good speeds and Virgin had the monopoly - held us to ransom!
Brsk has been getting ready to launch in our area and we've been waiting for it. The telegraph pole our fibre will be coming from is at the end of our drive so it should work OK!
I've signed up for twice the speed at a third of the price! Fixed for 2 years.
No landline with it but we have not used the landline for years and only had it for my Mum who is 96 but Mum phones my mobile now as her new plan includes mobiles. They are coming to install it next Monday. I hope it works well! We have the option of upgrading in the 2 years and even if we upgrade to the next band up we'll be paying less than half of what we pay now. The super speed package for serious gamers (no playstation or similar in our house) is still a lot cheaper than what we pay.
