So I've gone and done a thing... This adorable little cottage is going to be my new home come February 1. I will be renting not buying. The landlords are good acquaintances of mine. They have 5 houses (that they name) that they have gutted and remodeled and they don't come up for rent very often. So much to my surprise about three weeks ago I looked at their website and this one was available. 
I was unsure whether I would really be able to swing this as it's really going to stretch me financially. My sweet mom has paid the deposit for me and will contribute a couple hundred a month to help me do this. I'll just be able to squeak by but I so want my own little place. It is about 700 square feet but with a fenced backyard with a big deck. There is also a studio/storage space that can be heated if needed. It's going to be so perfect.
I'm a little anxious and my mom really had to push me to take the leap but I think it will work out. I have also applied for housing assistance because I qualify with the lousy pay I get through the school district. Don't get me started. It's a total disgrace that I should qualify. But the wait is long so we shall see when that comes through.
In the meantime, I'm dreaming of getting all settled in!
