Drifts

The wetland by the lake is frozen solid and so I could walk through it freely. On the margin between the wetland and the lake are stands of dried reeds, even now as tall as me. Every so often there is a gap, through which snow had been blown by the wind. The snow accumulated in drifts, like sand dunes, creating interesting ridges and shapes.

I liked the cast shadows created in the foreground by dried reeds in this shot. I was so focused on the snow I forgot about positioning the few clouds that were available (taps temple wisely).
