World Holocaust Memorial Day 2025

This installation on the banks of the Danube needs no interpretation. Jews forced from the nearby Budapest ghetto were taken to the river bank. They had to remove their shoes, that had a resell value, and then they were shot and their dead bodies fell into the fast flowing waters. On the 80th anniversary of the Russian liberation of Auschwitz it is even more important than ever that such atrocities are never ever forgotten.
