Red Lion Square, Grasmere

A new and old stitch. We arrived mid afternoon but had little opportunity to take many photographs. I've done one of these before, from the other direction. 

It is lovely how little this village has changed over the years, allowing me to meld the two images together.  The big challenge is putting myself in exactly the same position as the original image was taken and using a focal length comparable with the camera used. Even then it is probable that a large format camera was used, so the photographer could use the bellows to change perspective.

Up here for a few days, we're looking forward to some better weather later in the week.
