Chook Chooks

It was a surprise to wake up this morning and see the power had been restored, after a quick check of the bedside light, phew... although I hear some houses further up the line a few miles away are still waiting tonight. It seemed to rain and blow all day today, so we didn't venture far. Next door's chickens had their daily scout around for food in our garden though, we've only recently noticed they had spread all the stone chips on our paths as they pecked for things to eat, and the grass is already worse for wear, so when it dries I better fence up the gaps the neighbours must have left.
