Eye to Eye

A movement in the Trees …

… … moving up the trunks in the shadows, stopping, disappearing behind the trunk, reappearing on the edge of another tree so many times. Finally I left to continue my walk with only two shots (2nd in extra for the birders amongst you blippers) and fingers crossed. I think this is the Short Toed Treecreeper (happy to be corrected) which cannot be separated visually from the Eurasian Treecreeper as you don’t see the 2 species together. They have longer bills and shorter toes and weigh only 8 - 11gm! Both species have the stiff tail you can see in the extra photo that that keeps them vertically on the tree trunk as it climbs.

A late blip tonight as I went on my quest for a better shot of the Eagle Owls, no show tonight.

I hope you have had a lovely weekend. I have, but am so far behind with your journals though. Hope to rectify that tomorrow as rain is forecast.
