Living my dream

Watching the break of dawn

The turning of the year is noticeable. We get up before sunrise now, and this morning Bean ate her breakfast before dawn had made much of an impact on the sky.

Here she is on watch-duty; keeping an eye on the drive, the gate and any possible intruders. What an attentive girl.

People have awfully short memories. Chatting to a local this morning I was astonished that she had forgotten how frightening and uncertain everything was when Covid19 first started to spread around the world.

She told me how ridiculous it was that NZ borders had been closed. After all, vaccinations and treatments 'were available almost straightaway'. Apparently it was all a ploy to remind us that the government can control us if it wants to.

An interesting rewriting of history, just five years on.

It seems there's a lot of it about... and not just in NZ.
