Roman Ogee. Leica/Lumix Macro-Elmarit 45mm
The Romans are infamous known for their ogees. In this case though, it's just the name of a molding profile.
I am experimenting as I develop drawings for a set of bedside tables. The molding around the top will probably have this profile. My Blip shows the cutter - #95 - which creates this shape. It fits into the venerable Stanley #55 combination plane which we have previously met here The plane originally came from the Stanley Works with 55 optional molding and slotting cutters. It's the most remarkable tool, ingenious, yet difficult to use. It needs a light touch and a lot of patience to make it cut just so, but it can be done.
The image is magnified about 12x.
