Alice in Wonderland

we drove to New Forest and traffic jams on the A30 and A35 were awful, we arrived at 5 p.m. which is 2 hours later then expected. We then visited Lyndhurst where Reginald Hargreaves lived. She was the inspiration of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. She told him her dreams when she fell asleep in the forest. As a child I always thought the story was the scariest one I ever read, I still do I guess.

The town has a lot of references to Alice, like this Mad Hatter's tea house.
