While the sun smiles, stick around

A few years ago I used a hairdresser round the corner from me.   I washed my hair, ran round, she would cut my hair I'd leave and dry it at home 

Then one night I said 'tonight I'd like you to cut me a fringe' 

She said 'no' 

No reason, no arguing just no 

So I let her do her thing and I left went home. And cut it myself.  And never went back to her again.

Today I went to the hairdresser who I have known since school and who I have used for wow.... Before the other hairdresser 

Today, I said, 'I would like a fringe'

Hairdresser looked and me and said,.

Mmm maybe a bit of a graduated bit but not a full fringe 

I sat and wondered.  Do they think my face is too fat for a fringe.   And I browsed pictures of fringes while she colours 

When It came time to cut she stood a.moment and said. Okay. Let's do this   and she cut the edges away from my edges, looked up at me in the mirror and said 'oh, let's do a bit more'. 

So we did.   And when she finished and dried it she said 'You actually really suit a fringe, let's cut a bit more....

See....  If my daughter says I need a fringe, she knows 


Boy says 'wow mum that's gorgeous. What made you do that. Did you just wake up and think ... Something different ?

Nope I said Eilidh told me to.

Two minutes later Si gets a text from Boy.   'dad, you should get a mohawk'

Ha ha ha. Nope
