'dad i'm starving!'

we'd run out of birdseed so the billions of spuggies in the hedge in the front garden were having to rely on peanuts (never mind that they could be eating all the sodding insects and caterpillars in the garden, spoiled rotten this lot. the black seed in the background in nyjer seed for the goldfinches, btw, sparrows don't eat it.) so there were queues of cheepers forming on the branches nearby - and occasionally falling off when the branches got too full...
