Little Grebe
Walking this morning we saw a beautiful small group of three little grebes on a lake in the Forest of Dean.
Shy, the smallest of the grebes is fairly widespread on inland waters and is usually seen diving for small fish, shrimps and dragonfly nymphs - any water insect really.
Millie loved everything about the walk with her nose to the floor after scents which were numerous and behaved perfectly off the lead.
A nuthatch came in for some nuts that had been put out down there by a kind soul and I quickly grabbed the Extra before leaving.
