Confusion Abounds

We couldn’t put it off any longer. We very much enjoyed our roast duck on Christmas Day but now the time had come to tackle the post-Christmas oven clean.

This time, we decided to take the oven door apart so that we could clean both sides of the separate glass panels (which are so efficient at trapping dust in between). We dug out the cooker manual and followed the instructions for dismantling and noticed one of the panels had a label in one corner which said ‘above right’, (useful we thought except that it wasn’t in that position). After cleaning the panels, trims etc. we returned to the manual in order to reconstruct the door components and were rather bemused by the following instruction: ‘during installation, make sure that the lettering “top right” is upside down at the bottom left’! I’m guessing that once the door is back in position it is all correct.

Anyway, it’s all back together now, as per the manual so I just hope it works.
