Stormy Eowyn
Well that was some storm! Woken up by the high winds at 6am, 4 hours before the red warning even kicked in. The new roof held up well - thank goodness we'd had it done!
Trees and cables came down everywhere. Apart from the newly-fixed conservatory panels trying to take off and a few things smashed in the garden we escaped any real damage.
The power was off and on all day until giving up the ghost late afternoon. The 4G was completely down for a few hours too so was like the old days not knowing what was going on. Thankfully we have a gas hob for dinner and to boil hot water. No shortage of candles here either.
We'd been told the power wasn't due to be fixed until late Saturday afternoon so we were delighted when it came back on about 11pm. I was already in bed with a hot water bottle by that point.
I see there's another named storm coming in on Sunday (hopefully after my first market of the year) so fear for a lot of the trees now loosened by Eowyn.
