Fly-blown.....

.....a phrase that get's a whole different meaning with this pic.  I was just settling down with my late-morning cuppa outside, thankful that the rain had stopped and there was sufficient heat to have dried seats off.  I had intended finding yesterday's wee spider and seeing how he was doing, but then I noticed this chap sitting on the table........  He didn't move, even when I did, which is odd for flies.  I thought a quick few pics before returning to find he-from-yesterday would be ok and it was only when I looked at them on the screen I noticed the bubble.  Instant distraction and I spent a whole cup of tea plus some being utterly fascinated by him and his bubble blowing efforts.  I've since learned that flies, amongst other insects, will blow out bubbles and 'suck' them back in a few times before swallowing the bubble.  The cooler moisture helps to cool their body temperatures.  Odd that he should be blowing bubbles today when it was cooler anyway!

Back to the tennis tonight - ladies final which I fear may be a one horse race with Aryna Sabalenka taking on Maddison Keys.  Sure do hope I'm wrong though.
