Clouds
We escaped lightly in the South East today. Blustery and wet overnight it cleared away to a dry afternoon. We hear Eowen has been extremely vigorous in the north. We hope you’ve escaped the worst excesses. I wonder how it’s power compared to that of the 1987 “hurricane “ which did devastate the South East.
In view of the weather I spent the morning g clearing out the utility room ready for decorators to start on Monday. Gosh, after removing all the cupboards, shelves and appliances, the place was sooo dirty. You may wonder why we’re doing this when we’re selling the house? We were meant to do it last March but with Doreen’s passing and everything else that was planned it’s only now that we’ve got around to it. At least it will be attractive to prospective purchasers.
Today’s blip is from Mote Park showing a fleeting cloud formation the like of which I’ve not seen before. It was only visible for a few minutes. Maybe I’ll send it off to the Cloud Appreciation Society for their view. It’s not exactly showing the capabilities of the new phone is it?
This evening we went to the annual Broadstairs Burns Night Supper and ceilidh held a day earlier than the actual event. Hosted by the Hot Rats band, known on the evening as the Up Your Kilt band. Great fun with all the traditional Scottish dancing and, of course, haggis, neeps and tatties.
An update on last night. I failed yet again to make Conchita laugh, continuing a run of over 25 years. I did make her smile though, more through bemusement I’m sure, as I turned up to collect them from their home wearing a chauffeur’s hat.
