Blue Tit ( Cyanistes caeruleus )

When we got up Storm Eowyn was raging.  WE "only" had an Amber warning unlike Kat in Edinburgh where the warning was Red.  We had to go into town to pick up something, driving wasniously been on the A66 but somebody had been out with a chain saw and cleared it off the road.

Today was the first day of the RSPB big garden bird watch an amazing "citizen science" project.  As we will be traveling to Edinburgh we decided we ought to do out survey today.  I wasn't hopeful given the wind and occasional bouts if hail.  Actually it wasn't too bad a result for the hour I did:

Goldfinch
Great Tit
Greenfinch   3   (the most we have seen for a good while)
Pheasant
Robin
Woodpigeon
