The plumber and his apprentice arrived in the morning to finally sort out the shower. They completely replaced it, including the shower head we bought not long after we moved in.

As it turned out, that wasn't much of an issue. We bought that shower head to increase the pathetic water pressure,  but the plumber fixed that too! That was a nice surprise!
