Appalacian Hike

I have been hit with a whole bunch of hiking desires these last few days. A colleague talking to me about the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) was followed by a book at the airport about someone walking the PCT jumping into my hands and being devoured yesterday. Today I took a 6 mile hike up to this view point (Pinwheel Vista) along the Appalachian Trail. While I was watching the view I got chatting to a guy doing the whole 2000 miles. He had been walking since April. It was pretty impressive. I met another hiker at the bottom and gave her a lift into town. Hiking with everything on your back and not showering for a week is not a pleasant combo. Maybe I need to go for a long walk?
