The Mughals

Last night we decided to get down to London. We got the 9.15 pm very full train from Newcastle to Kings Cross, arriving at 1.15am. It was a 10 minute walk to our Premier Inn. I was still awake at 3am and really only dozed which meant I felt a bit tired this morning.

We couldn’t see the Silk Roads exhibition as it was fully booked at the British Museum but decided to walk down anyway and go to the Hew Locke as we enjoyed his work when a different exhibition was at the Sage a couple of years ago. When we got there we found huge queues as they had a glitch in their system. A woman was cross as she couldn’t get in and hadn’t been sent an email despite having a ticket for something. We decided to get the tube from Russell Square out to South Ken to the V&A for the Mughals which was so interesting. I’ll have to listen to the William Dalrymple podcasts again.

We got the tube back, picked up our bags and before walking back to Kings X we had a coffee.

Now for the hour in the tube to Heathrow and a night flight. We have walked over 5 miles today.

I hope Blippers in the area affected by the storm are ok and sufferered no damage to property.
