………………………………flowers!
Storm Eowyn has given us a run for our money throughout today, thankfully a few upturned pots was the only damage sustained here. The town centre didn’t fare so well and WH Smith’s lost its roof which resulted in the Main Street being closed off. One of the quirky bookshops on Bridge Street, near where the boys live, lost its cupola and their building is missing a few roof tiles…though not from above their flat. It’s still blowin’ a hoolie out but it has calmed down from this afternoons 70+ mile an hour gusts. It didn’t feel nearly as scary as Arwen did when I first moved here…partly due to it being daylight and partly due to the wind coming from a different direction. There are power outages in the area but touch wood we’ve not been affected, I am prepared though. Hoping all is calm by bedtime.
The little tornado woke at 7.15 and has been loud and boisterous all day…Grans tether has been well and truly tugged especially as I didn’t sleep well last night. I spent this morning cooking…chicken for tea and some roasted veg for a pan of soup, plus a pizza for sirs lunch! He has eaten all his meals today but had numerous snacks between, he’s never full! He’s currently trying to put his PJs on so he can have supper.
A bit of unintentional flower movement in the garden seemed apt for today’s blip. Thanks to BikerBear for hosting Flower Friday.
