Capital adventures

A slower start to the day with some adminey stuff in the morning and then off to Sunway Pyramid with the girls. I very rarely go shop shopping at home but here, Mall culture is such a thing.  Sunway Pyramid isn't our closest Mall but Olivia likes it.  Took 30 mins to get there and then we bought soe stuff.  PJs and a top each for them in M&S, Crocs, plus embellishments for them (the cost was eye watering).  Then a lunch stop at Gordon Ramsay's Street Pizza for the bottomless pizza and bottomless sodas for the girls.  I just had a very large 'bottomed' pizza. A new family tradition.

After that bought some tea for Kee Fun's birthday and a couple of things from Sephora. Then we Grabbed home which was easier than it could have been but Wen Hui says the city is already emptying for the CNY holidays.

Dropped the stuff off at HK then came back here for a swim.  It was fine till it started to rain and rain and rain and we abandoned when the drops were too big to be pleasant.

Back upstairs the girls had a bath and I washed yesterday's dishes. After that it was You Tube for the zillions of versions of Apa Tu that you can find there.  The girls are really into this.  But even I though the Arabic version and the kids' version were cool.  The weather cleared up a bit and then went rapidly downhill.  We had a huge tropical storm which went on for hours and at its height you could barely see Lebuhraya Sprint below me.  Later there was thunder and lightning.  But once it eased a bit we went back over to HK.  No-one needed dinner though.

I was monitoring the progress of Storm Eowen through WhatsApp groups and the BBC.  Though the presenter on BBC World (or whatever it is called now) needs to check up on her geography.  Troon was still
on the West coast the last time I was there.

By the time I was going off to bed things seem to be calming down a bit, in Edinburgh anyway.  Hope there hasn't been too much damage.

Coincidentally, exactly 16 years ago today we were caught up in the severe weather event that struck SW France and devastated the forests.  We had no power for 2+ days and no water for half that time. Tempete Klaus, Now that was an experience.  The tree in the picture stopped us getting to the rugby in Montauban as it blocked our way out of the village, plus the advice was not to travel.
