Flower Friday
The safest place to find a Flower Friday blip on this day of Red Alert for Storm Eowyn is indoors.
The wind is starting to reduce, currently about half the strength of that earlier in the day. I don't think that we have suffered anything like as much as the west coast, or even outside the city, though our garden bench and table were blown over and our Viburnum tinus has collapsed. We have also 'inherited' a perspex panel, I think from a neighbour's greenhouse. (In an hour or so we can send a message and return it).
My flower blip comes from my mother, it is a brooch and earrings; the base is ceramic and the petals appear to be made of tiny coloured shells, they are so thin. I love the detail but have only vague recollections of her wearing them, I would have been very young, say the early '50's - perhaps they'll pop up in a family photo. They have very little commercial value but I brought them home when we closed the house and they have remained in their box, protected by cotton wool, until I came across them by chance earlier today - I'm sure she guided my hand. Thanks to BikerBear for continuing to host the challenge.
