I would be lying if I said that work had been receiving my full focus lately.

Panto has been taking up most of the available room in the bedsit, which serves as my brain, with the children next (probably fighting with each other on the floor) and then work, shyly hiding in the corner and occasionally raising its hand for a little attention.

I was glad therefore that this Thursday would be serving as my Friday and I could sign off early again to regroup.

Before all that though I had a hot choc with Debs booked, where by way of an early birthday (Sunday - you’ve still got time) present, she kindly delivered me of the things pictured here. Very thoughtful and incredibly cheeky - just how I like it. The card in particular was inspired.

Then it was an afternoon of tidying up work stuff before clocking off, throwing an early pie, chips and beans dinner down the wee ones and heading off to see The Lakes Players version of Cinderella, which was a mixed affair, but we really enjoyed the spectacle (a flying fairy and a flying horse and carriage? Come on!) and performance of Dandini who was very funny and had a cracking voice.

We were even home before 10pm, so can’t complain too much.

Now looking forward to escaping for a long weekend and getting my head back in the game.
