NOT the Wanaka Tree!

… a rather misshapen tree a little further up the lake.  Once there were three trees along side each other but two have since died.  The boardwalk was exciting this morning.  We saw what I believe had to have been a Grebe chick hatching on a nesting platform followed a short time later by this tiny ruffle of movement on a swimming parent’s back and the same tiny ruffle of feather swimming between the two parents.  Amazing.  Friday drink with friends including a couple from Aus who spend their hot summers here.
