For the first time this holidays, we went into the town to buy a big load of crap birthday presents for my mum. Library first, by which time Daisy declared herself exhausted so we went for a milkshake.

A lovely few hours wandering round, the children managed to get rid of all their money. It was touch and go for a while for Daisy but she managed to dash into the newsagents round the corner for a magazine, thank goodness. Imagine if she held onto the money for more than an afternoon.Will was very happy with a water bomb sling shot in Hawkins Bazaar (it's back!!) reduced from £5 to 98p. I hate it already, not for the reasons you might think but because I have to keep filling the bloody balloons!

And I have bought a deep fat fryer. I know, I don't know why really either- just felt the urge to spend another £19.99. Maybe I will give it to my mum, she has got bugger all else for her birthday.
