Peacock Butterfly
After my humid walk yesterday evening, it's been a much cooler walk this morning. I went back to Trentham as the gardens, especially the Floral Labyrinth designed by Peit Ouldof, were just buzzing and fluttering with hover flies, bees and butterflies.
I was in my element, just completely immersed in their world. I love the contrast here between this gorgeous Peacock butterfly and the flowers that were providing the nectar.
Among the other butterflies I could identify were Tortoiseshell, Comma, Large and Small White and Meadow Brown.
I also spied a drone fly and a day flying moth which I couldn't identify as it wouldn't stop fluttering, at very high speed, even when it landed for nectar.
