We also visited the port and walked down the breakwater. There was only one ship in port, loading logs.
The stainless steel building is the Len Lye centre. Len Lye was a kinetic artist and filmmaker. His work is now archived and displayed here. The building reflects the surrounding buildings on its facade - the old town clock and the heritage White Hart hotel across the road.
We are leaving New Plymouth tomorrow and heading home but may stop somewhere over night on the way.
