“Hear, see and be silent”
“Hear, see and be silent” is a depiction of a wisdom by the Chinese philosopher Confucius (551-479 BC). The statue with its hands on its ears hears no evil, the statue with its hands on its eyes sees no evil and the statue with its hands on its mouth speaks no evil. This is sometimes also shown in the strictly incorrect wording: about what you hear and see, you should be able to keep silent.
The statue group “Hear, see and be silent” has various versions. The first version of the version exhibited in The Hague dates from 2000.
