Reflecting On A Bauble Selfie
We only got out for a quick pint and to get the Saturday papers today as our mate B was due for a visit this afternoon. It's always great to see him and as usual the conversation just flowed - with diverse subjects covered including redundancy (mine and my brothers), his new car (a Jag), how sad he was to see his old Focus with 130,000 miles on the clock go, the travails of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, the madness of Trump and Musk, photography and how his 90 year-old mum is the most optimistic person he knows despite her ongoing battles with losing her sight and arthritis. He seemed pretty happy with the homemade sausage rolls we served up along with a steady supply of biscuits too!
That didn't leave much time to get an image, particularly after making dinner - an Ainsley Harriott recipe called "Pasta cream bean dream" which includes spaghetti, runner beans, streaky bacon, onion and Little Gem lettuce (although I prefer creme fraiche to cream - sorry Ainsley!) - and it was only later when I sat down and suddenly saw my reflection in one of the baubles on our Christmas tree that I captured this impressionistic effort (otherwise know as a far too slow shutter speed) which I actually quite like, particularly the fact that my camera lens appears as a distorted heart shape!
