Fun in the park

This morning we took the twins down the road to Blackheath Memorial Park (aka the Rhodo park or the Rocket park).
Here’s Ayman in the nose cone of the rocket prior to launching. Having survived that, he took Ella for a more sedate flight in the bi-plane (extra).
Our three children (and thousands of others) grew up playing on the original rocket which was installed in the park in the ‘60s. Despite no injuries ever being recorded, the Council removed it twenty years ago for “safety reasons”. Our Rotary club paid for the construction of a new rocket about 6 or 7 years ago and it’s been just as big a hit with the kids as the original. It’s the same size and shape with a couple of minor design changes in order to pass the regulations.
