Pointing down

This parking lot pole light is a perfect example of the community following the law...the "dark skies" law which we have in southern Arizona. Even billboards with lights on them are banned. There are world-class observatories in the area.  It was a perfect place for them to be built because our (mostly) clear desert nights give scientists practically perfect conditions for exploring the universe.
